Club run review - Sunday 10th August

We need to do more to sort out the whole group start thing. This morning the Top Group flew off, whilst Keystone Cop confusion saw 5 club-to-middlers go one way [Knebworth and around] whilst another 7 of us went on a great scenic circle from Slip End, Buntingford, Wyddial, Anstey, somewhere else, up a dead end, errr over the A10? and back thru Benington. 45 miles at around 17mph in sunny - but very windy conditions.
Funnily enough, the other 5 - including Geoff, Tony, Max - did the same distance/time. So let's keep it together next time?
Highlight for me was winning the sprint - courtesy of Pete's kind lead out. And much to Skelder's annoyance! Alec and Dave took the brunt of a nasty windy section near Dassels. Respect to Dave for arriving at the ride straight from work. There's dedication. Andy B needs to get his legs back from South Africa - and nice to see yer man from Beds Road CC putting in an appearance. Guests always welcome.
