Hi all

The annual 3 Cafes CCA Spring Classic ride over to Maglia Rosso, with the Blue Egg and Saffron Walden Costa either side, is on Friday 24 March 2023. 8.30am departure from Ashwell's Three Tuns.

NOTE: this 24th March date is a week later than I previously mentioned. Sorry.

All welcome - CCA members or not.

A great early season challenge to train for in winter. The daffodils will be out and there'll be a hint of warmth in the air.

I'll make a note of Maglia lunch orders closer to the time.

Hi Adam - you can decide on the day. But I will have submitted our lunch order to Maglia a few days beforehand. That's no problem though.

Hi Robert - we will try and be as inclusive as we can on average speed. It's a reminder on self-sufficiency if anyone has to decouple from the peloton or go solo: All - bring the route with you somehow, front and rear lights, phone, cash, puncture repair kit, pump, portable battery, lucky rabbit's foot.

There's about 9 weeks to go to build the legs up?

I may have to join late (or worse, not at all), due to childcare issue. When is the latest my Maglia Rosso order can be cancelled? If it's too late, I will reimburse who ever pays for it, no problem.

Brendan - I'm sure it's cool if we e.g. call from the Blue Egg to cancel your order.
All - consider clip-on mudguards for potential showers.

Note: I'm still getting over a virus and may only make it so far on the day. But you've got the route and it'll be fine if I need to bail out.

Maglia Rosso welcome any last-minute food orders. Please post them on the forum now though - not the online list.

Apologies but also have to pull out. Recovering from some sort of infection so was 50/50 anyway and now something else has come up so can't get away.
Real shame - this is a great classics season ride that really sets you up for the spring/summer - have a great ride!
