Bike box advice

I'm considering buying a bike box, but they look expensive, and I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

Anyone got any advice on what to get / avoid, or where to get one?

    Bike box Alan. Although they’re expensive they’re absolutely bombproof. Might be worth looking for a secondhand one. I’ve taken my carbon racebikes and wheels on planes, trains and even in the occasional automobile with one and it’s brilliant. Worth it for peace of mind IMHO.

    I have a Velovault which has been good and supposedly take a 29er MTB. If I was buying again I would probably look at the ones from SiCon since you don’t have to remove the bars and seat, which is a factor if you have integrated stem/bar.

    Trisports used to hire them and I also think you can hire from Bikebox online.
