Free to a good home!

Let me start by introducing myself - Fred Hart, I live in Stotfold and have just joined the CCA. I won't be joining in the fun for a wee while however as I've a slight back problem which at my age could get worse. I have had a knee problem for years; they don't like being twisted! Decided to try Speedplay Zero pedals to see if they are an improvement to SPDs. After a month, it is clear that they are not. So it's back to SPDs for me and the Zero Stainless are free to the first to contact me either on 01462 735402 or at 5 Willowherb Way (on the new Persimmon estate off the first roundabout on the A507). I'm retired so will be at home for most of the time. Looking forward to joining in a ride in the not too distant future and meeting some of you. The pedals are red by the way and come complete with all original screws and sims. The cleats will fit most shoes with either 3 or 4 holes; I had them fitted to a pair of Shimano shoes.

  • Fred,

I wouldn't mind taking them off your hand for my daughter. I've just bought her a new bike and she keeps looking longingly at clipless pedals.

I'll give you something for them. I'm in Stotfold, just off Queen St so round the corner from you.

  • Actually Fred,

Having seen them I'll have them myself and giver her a pair of my old Looks.

  • Thanks Fred.

(Have arranged to collect these from him).

    Will see you later.

  • Darren.....not sure I would advise as the tolerance/movement may be limited..hence name zero....they are intended for things like track sprint or pursuit where effort is relatively short and no directional change...she needs movement at least 5deg. There is a dynamic when riding road and forcing feet to stay in a position can be harmful. So spd's or looks are preferable...we have some spd's if needing these.
  • You're probably right Geoff. Just a fortuitous opportunity that I've missed out on anyway.
  • stuff for free goes damn quick here Darren..
