Yes I remember persuading Bob to carry on at Ely ( his original plan )
( one in front of Bob on the right )
Took the first Crumps sausage role, it was bliss
The boys towing us along with what seemed no effort at all
and nearly missing station on the way back, due to Pete, MC and the brandy
Looking forward to second attempt :-)
Thanks for sorting Martin

Looks like I've got a long night ahead of me making flippin' badges. I don't mind...
Depending on actual turnout on the day, we might need to think about splitting into groups til Ely at least. Thereafter, we are on very quiet lanes - generally.
We'll do whatever is safe. And a good chance to exhibit some tidy group riding and road etiquette eh!
Blimey! Now I've seen the badges, I really don't think I can join up at Arrington - I wouldn't feel I'd earned the prize. Bike in the car to Ashwell then!
Martin,
Can we have a badge for the best downed pint. Another for the missed pint and a medal for whoever cycles all the way back?
Proper good badges old chap

Hmmm... Let's see closer to the day, but we might need to sort out a few group leaders if our numbers are high. With each group having the route knowledge in someone's head or Garmin.
Also. This many riders won't all fit on the first available train back. So think about the possibility of hanging around King's Lynn [Fenman pub] if possible to let those that really need to get back quick get on the first available train.
Yes Vince. Badges for skills off the bike too on the day. Am doing the math in me head. Loitering back at the Three Tuns after for a couple of hours and we should meet up with the there-and-back crackpots. That would be nice to be waiting for them.
The next Tuesday club pub nite, Tues 2nd Sept, might be a good pre-ride catch-up opportunity.
Might be poss to have 2 start times, with the aim of both groups meeting somewhere along the way and riding some of it together ... perhaps splitting again at t'other end? Some loiter over beer and some go for an earlier train ... and some turn into the wind with gritted teeth and minds set on the UltraWelles badge?

Note the welcome soft decline for the last 10 miles, except for a lumpy roundabout thing. We'll have earned it.

Nathan.
Count me in.

Best you make a start on them badges today...
Best put a forward order in for the Chippy in Wells with 30 + riders !
And keeping the animal theme going, for those glorious few who go that proverbial extra mile, the Double Badger badge.
Collectors' items!
Btw... Two chippies on Wells harbour front.
Thanks

Perhaps we should discuss sharing both the cost and the load if we want a traditional Narborough Belgian Breakfast.

Up for it Tim?
You could leave it in Narborough and Robbie could bring it back!
