  • I might be up for this
  • The there and back crowd has reduced to 2 so probably not going to go ahead... plus I think I may have to work that day too so might not be around at all! Boooooooooo
  • Agreed Will. Unless we have at least 5 or 6 people it's pointless really.

The Fenman pub in King's Lynn - directly opposite the train station - is welcoming us back with a recovery special selection of sandwiches and snacks in the bar and letting us put bikes in their back garden again. A good way to sit out the wait for a space on the next available train back home. All riders: grab a paper plate and help yourself on arrival. Don't let that mini Scotch Egg roll off on to the floor now!

    David
  • Can I order chips pls @mattss
  • Just checked, group save option is on for off peak back from KL if travelling in groups of 4. Less than a tenner each.. bargain. Only 2 bikes per carriage... all depends on the jobsworth platform staff... basically let’s not pi$$ them off.. we need them on side. :-)
  • Sorry chaps, I can’t make it on Friday now. Have fun!
  • Last call for food orders at the Stag Inn, West Acre...
  • Tomorrow's forecast is OK. No repeat of 2017 anyway.

I look forward to seeing you all in the morning. Rhubarbs do good cake and fresh orange juice by the way.

Let's set off in groups of six, a minute or so apart. It's fine if one group overtakes another: we will all regroup in Ely. I recommend the side of the cathedral where there is a ginnel to the high street and you have a Cafe Nero and other independent cafes and shops there for people to fuel up. Remember: there is then no food or drink thereafter for 33 miles when we get to the Stag Inn.

I look forward to the bants and talking to those who maybe fancy a Belgium replacement ride or whatever 17-18 Sept.

  • Hi Matt - thanks for arranging. Best get solo-boy Vince a butty. He told me he was going to submit a choice - but seems to have forgotten. He'll need all the energy he can muster as he'll be on the front of his own little peloton for 123 miles...

Yes! All - Remember a little facemask. Or buy one in Ely.
  • Cheers all. Yes happy with any sandwich.
