Stef - We'd like to ride over if poss - fancy a challenge. But don't want to stop someone else getting the chance. If that fits with other people's plans I'll get cracking with deposits. Twin room should be fine, although I might need earplugs :-)

Thanks Martin. Do you want 2x deposits?
-
My brother is also keen. Not an Ashwell member - he's from the midlands - but we could stick him on the front for a few hours as recompense.
-
Oh I love a bit of Belgium. Tempted if there's space, but wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone.
-
Good ride and route that, cheers all (esp. Phil for leading). One thought: I think we'd all feel fresher towards the end of the ride if we shared the work on the front a little more evenly, particularly early in the ride. I reckon it'd help to m…

Can prob join if heading south Phil, so option 1 gets my vote.

Thanks Jane for flagging this. Absolutely fascinating - messages applicable in all walks of life.

Might see you there if my bout of jet lag has subsided in time. I could do with something to take my mind off tomorrow's football!
-
See you there chaps

Well, that was an experience. Phil, Al and I made it out for a trip to Harold and Odell. Conditions were as bad as I can remember riding in. The outward journey was gruelling into a strong headwind. Return was easier, but complete lack of circulation…

I should be there Phil. I'll try my best to keep up!
No preference on route if we're headed North - that's out of my neck of the woods. I've got to head off to the Midlands shortly afterwards, so anything with potential for an early bail… -
I'll be there - apols for the late sign-up.
Mark - I've signed up to the Mapmyride site, so hopefully I should get chance to download the route before tomorrow if you're willing to accept my "friendship"! -
I'll happily wave a flag!
-
Great photo Toma - don't know how you did that! The only thing more impressive was your attack to get in place to take the picture - Froomesque!
Well done all, and thanks Jeremy for leading a good ride. Kudos Pete for battling through wi… -
Should be there, but don't wait up for me if I'm not! If I am there I could also lead a particularly hilly route...
-
Apols not to join you all, still feeling grotty - wouldn't have kept up.
-
I'll be there (for the bike option!) if I can shake my latest lurgy...
-
Pretty sure I'll be there, so I'll look out for some friendly CCA jerseys. I'll try to get round without getting lost this time! No excuses really, this one's on my home patch...

Eventually got cramp, got dropped and got very, very lost :-) Sorry not to see you all back at the clubhouse - met my family somewhere near Bedford.
Good fun that, cheers all. -
Well, I LOVED that!! Thanks Andrew for organising.
Many thanks all for accommodating this particular novice - it was great to ride with such a careful and considerate group.
One request: Please can someone whisper me the det… -
Really excellent route Phil - thumbs up.

Uh oh - I might be pushing up Bison!

Sounds fun - count me IN!
-
See you there Phil. My vote - Dunstable downs. Proper hills!
-
Signed up - can't wait to get back on the track! It's not very often that a grown man gets to do something that makes them feel like an excited kid is it?!

Odds-on puncture

Cheers Tim for the helpful advice. If I'm ever going to give it a go then it sounds like the ideal opportunity, so I'll see where my fitness and motivation get to over the next three months. Finishing in the bunch sounds like a good challenge!

Andrew - I'm interested in giving this a go, but I note that everyone else has signed up as "experienced". I've done one taster session! Granted I didn't fall off - I even made it to the top of the banking - but I don't want to get in the way if you'…
