You were looking good this afternoon Robbie. I was in the stands waiting for Sophie to finish her RSR training session and watched your scratch race. Great timing for that final sprint past the chap who was in front of you going into the last bend!

Hi BrendanR
Yes, the roller training is still going on, on a Monday night. Just turn up at the URC hall on the High Street in Ashwell from 6.30pm. By the time everyone is set up it is normally a 6.45 start. If you have your own rollers t… -
They held a team championship event at Herne Hill this summer. Sophie teamed up with some riders from Welwyn Wheelers and Lee Valley to form "Team Trisports Letchworth". The girls weren't placed but they were all Youth B, riding up in a Youth A event…

I got Sophie accredited at Newport (£10) and then she only needed to do her level 4 at Lee Valley. I don't know it Derby are doing any accreditation sessions but it might be worth looking at, as you might be able to get through everything in one day…

Nice photo of Harley's and Sophie's backs with good advertising for the club!

It's not going to be gout if it only occurs during long bike rides! Gout isn't that selective. It's more likely to be a biomechanics problem. The feet rotating in slightly, placing more stress on the base of the big toe where most of the pressure is …

Hi Andy
Your bike has been delivered to Richard and I will drop your shoes off to your wife. Hope you are mending quickly but just relax and let it happen - you cannot make your bones heal any faster than nature will allow. I hope the knees are… -
Sophie Lewis got 1st place in the under 14 girls race! Sadly Harley Pell was unable to race due to her broken wrist, otherwise she would have been up there competing with Sophie for first.

I need help sorting out Sophie's gearing, as she has gone up an age cat. Count me in for a session please.

I'm sure it you asked Sophie and Harley, Shelton, they would not be concerned that they did not have to do 3 laps! If someone told Sophie to carry her bike up that hill again with addition of 5lb of mud and grass she would have flattened them! The co…

Sophie came back pale and anxious and went straight upstairs to look for her studded running shoes. She doesn't think she is going to be spending much time in the saddle tomorrow morning!

Harley had a fantastic, but hard race to hold off Millie Gage, winning the youth girls (under 16 and under 14). Sophie came 4th overall but 2nd to Harley in the under 14 girls. The course was wet, very muddy and very technical albeit with no hurdles …

Thanks for leading us out Susan. Great ride. We are looking forward to coming out on the next one.

Matt (and Sophie) -
Under 16's - Travis Pell had a superb 6th place, Noah Field a close 11th, Gareth Lewis wasn't that much further behind.
Under 14's - Adam Lightfoot had a really respectable 7th, Felix Field was in the bunch, sorry, cannot remember his place. So… -
Thanks for taking Sophie out today on her first club ride. She had a really enjoyable ride and is keen to do some more (cyclocross permitting).

can I order a small ladies roubaix jacket and a small short sleeved ladies skinsuit as per the sample (the cheaper one!).
Cheers
Claire Lewis -
Thanks Geoff
I will be taking Sophie down to Baldock for the CX training at 7pm and collecting at 8.30 but will otherwise be around. -
I would like to get a ladies roubaix jacket (hitting the target of 3) - are there any samples to check the sizing? Also, did you get the skin suit sample?

Sophie goes into under 14 shortly.

1st in the girls under 12 omnium with Harley a very close 2nd. Sophie also won the girls duathlon and the bike skills, so a clean sweep over the weekend!!!

Hi Mark
Sophie would love to attend please. She has just had experience of her first CX race at Mildenhall! Things did not go quite according to plan as they did not use CX league age cats or BC age cats. Instead of doing 2 short laps wi… -
Thanks everyone - SPDs it will be then.

I have had a look at the article but did not find it particularly relevant to the pedal type question as eggbeaters were not mentioned. It was more about starting off with clipless pedals. Sophie is slightly past that now. I know there has been some …

Could I get an XS premium s/s skin suit sample to try for size please, for Sophie?

Sophie Bruton has not been able to access the on-line booking so is requesting that people print off and post their entry forms to her. I haven't looked to see if there is a postal address on the BC website but if there is, then use that. She will no…

Hi Geoff and Shelton
Thank you so much for taking me to county Durham and looking after me Shelton. A big thank you to Geoff for letting me stay at your farm and taking me out cycling. I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Tour d… -
Sophie L is in. There is supposed to be racing in the afternoon for the kids training in the cluster sessions - there may be the opportunity for people to help with the racing in the afternoon if they are willing. This will be their first racing indo…

Tim - the Ashwell youngsters (years 5 & 6) will be away this week on a school trip and others are heading up to Yorkshire/County Durham for the TDF so may it be better to hold the event the next week? It gives more opportunity for communicating w…

I not quite sure ... Sophie was wondering if Harley wanted some female company but I have Phoebe in school all week. You don't fancy taking up another young lady Shelton? Who were you thinking I could babysit for? Surely you don't need a babysitter a…
