PS please post if you're coming. Always good to have a back up Garmin

Blunham, Little Staughton, Kimbolton, Old Weston, Wadenhoe .... Oundle, Gt Gidding, Spaldwick, Perry, Buckden ... you know the rest and we should get blown nicely home, if the weathermen have got it right Old Barn Tearoom at Wadenhoe, 44 miles

Should be ok, thx Vince. Just needs a chance to mend, so a Jeremy-pace on hills is not what it needs this w/e

Good idea, Jeremy I'm tempted too, but slightly injured and hoping it settles fast. So I'm probably better off doing a long ride with less climbing this weekend (Aiming to do something like the sportive route next weekend)
-
Hmm, I'm not convinced that that's how you got to be so strong on a bike New training regime for 2016?
-
Well done Robbie!

A great day in the Chilterns! Snow on Bison Hill as I drove in and it was a little fresh at the start, but the sun was out, bikes needed to be ridden and hills needed to be climbed I thoroughly recommend The Wee Bookshop caf

Thanks for getting us this session, Andrew. Unfortunately, I just can't do that weekend

'Tis just a flesh wound

Looks like Etape t'Dales 2015 weather all over again Turbo for me

QoL: Queen of the Lead-out Good ride, good company. Just what I needed. Thanks James

I'm interested. Would prefer to go earlier though eg June ... be nice to come home feeling superfit and have another couple of summer* months to enjoy it * summer means hot sunny days with very little rain, just in case (like me) you're wondering i…

Jamie, this sounds great and thanks for it organised. Unfortunately I don't have a track bike, but otherwise I'd be there
-
Nice! I really like the aerial footage - gives a whole new perspective on bike riding If it fits with your timing, the Tour of Cambridgeshire is on 5th June and that could look pretty spectacular from a drone. Starts with a column of 5000 or so ride…

D'oh that explains it! Will - I pootled over to Orwell to cheer on the riders in blue, only to find it deserted. What a shame ... mostly about the race, but I'd also been looking forward to a hot cuppa. Bit chilly for a recovery ride, this morning
-
There are flames coming out of the Audi that's chasing - lads must have been going at speed! See what you mean about needing a guide to identifying riders. Guessing that Will's the one with the blue booties ... and those are Neil's knees?
-
Good luck! And look after yourselves - v cold tarmac indeed
-
Good luck everyone! If ever there was a reason to work together, this wind is it

Home safe (and dry) 56 miles av 17.1mph Hope the rest of the group enjoyed the tailwind as much as I did

I'm a bit short on time, so Grafham best for me (and we might get back before the worst of the rain) ... or I could stretch to Harrold Odell or Emily's. Over to you, Phil. Decision time J

the legend

Good, that Quite a lot of mud, pot holes and gravel, but I didn't see any ice, even though it didn't creep much above 3 degrees all morning. On the plus side, Sharpenhoe Clappers made for an evil finish and we had sunshine most of the way
-
(And at the risk of boring everybody...) My Garmin Edge has stopped working several times, mid-ride (most annoyingly, on the Fred Whitton) so I don't rely on it 100%. Road signs and paper maps and asking the locals are more reliable and IMO, more f…

Garmin, Strava, paper maps all have their place and everyone has their preferred way of using them Think we're all still learning how best to use the newer technologies (I've got a vague memory of Will being a Strava-denier until last year, so there…

Thanks for flagging this up, Susan It's free to register, but sign up quickly if you want a place

Sounds like a great opportunity. And boy did I miss out when I was a teenager! Good luck on the 11th - go Sophie!

Streaky or smoked?

Well done all
-
Good to see Tom and Neil - and I really appreciated them keeping a bit of order on the front today Thanks for the route, Phil. Quite a tough one on winter bikes, but hey, I'm dreaming of how much easier I mean faster Bison Hill will be on summer bik…

Good to see you back, Gareth And good luck with the op
