Not just about total mileage, if we're going to keep the club vibrant and welcome new members then regular attendance of club runs should be equally important
-
100% club run attendance ( 2017 )! Lonely ride with a head wind all the way round (or so it felt); made it back home before the heavens opened up. Usual southern route: Redhill, Walkern, Bennington, Watton, Datchworth, Codicote, Whitwell, Kings Wald…

5 out today for a two-bridge classic - tail wind on the way back up to the water tower was just what was required. Very unseasonal weather, make the most of it before mr frost turns up again.
-
More carols next time.
-
I'll now join you Letchworth - see you all at 6pm
-
4 out this morning for an extended two bridges taking in Cardington and then over to Hitchin for a coffee at Kinetic Cycles. Good show all!
-
I'll be out tomorrow - working off a mild hangover Easy 16's reverse "two bridges" (up Hexton on fixed?) or we could do the Whitwell loop - depends on who's there. See you tomorrow
-
I'll be there at LMNH :-)
-
Spray, what spray - I didn't notice a thing ;-) A perfect December ride, apart from the rather nasty Sharpenhoe Clappers
-
I should be out tomorrow - not looking like rain, so mudflats might not be an issue
-
Well, it is certainly substantially different to how it was a couple of years ago. We used to have 2-3 groups and was a great way for new members to find out about the club
-
The ever diminishing Sunday club run was out again, 2 riders 2 bridges and the cardington loop. Finished on 78km. Let's a have a few more out next week please?
-
Great fun - different gearing next time!
-
I'll try and make it. Where's the address
-
"Character building" would be a good way to describe that ride, though what character may be up for debate. +1 vote for "moist"
-
That's a rather bold statement, however it must be said that it was perfect conditions for a club run and the sparsity of the turnout was the only downside.
-
Great ride. Thanks to everyone for tolerating my fixed induced cramp and especially @Vincent F for the running repairs on my legs at Narborough. Looking at the Garmin the temperature was nearly twice as hot as last year - global warming!
-
BBC long range weather forecast has a tail wind ( WSW ) and 24C for the day :-)
-
I'm up for that - same route as last week?
-
Count me in for the 123 miler, wonder if mister fixie will return this year?
-
Signed up - looking forward to the sessions
-
Wonder if they'll re-tarmac the roads in prep for the races, as the moment they're in a shocking state
-
If you can stretch the extra £50 then these (£149) from Planet-X are a very good alternative; they have aluminium rollers and better bearings I had a set of the Tacx and found that after time, and a lot of use, two things happen: the bearing beco…

I'm going to have to drop out, another spare place available
-
I'm suffering from some logistical challenges, can anyone offer a lift down ( with space for a track bike )?
-
Never got my badge for last year, was there a special one for fixed-madness?
-
I'll try fixed again this year ( if I recall last years ride came in at over 35,000 pedal revolutions ) and will remember (a) drink more water and (b) avoid the chips in Wells It's a cracking ride and the blast through Holkham is a treat
-
Roads very slippy - lots of black ice. After several slips and slides I turned back and spent some time on the rollers. Be careful out there.
-
Hi Jamie, You might find that a tad undergeared Just remember your vinegar for the tyres
-
I can recommend the Planet-X resistance rollers, like Tim says but with a magnet in the rear roller that makes it feel like a good climb, and you get the added bonus of working the core muscles to maintain balance Produce here: Planet-X Resistance R…
