This is a great film and does indeed give a good impression of the race - good find Jeremy!

A good course, though lacking a obstacle to force a dismount (now I understand why). It was a big event and the course made good use of the available land I thought; nice wide route the whole way round. I'd left a lot of Joules on the course at Bur…

Good racing at Grafham today. There were worries that rumoured restrictions would make the course rather boring, but in fact we got 'to race them on the beaches' and the long wooded straight was replaced by a windy section through a different sectio…

Hope your finger heals soon Strappy.

I recall the lap I had to run half of, because I bust my rear mech, was my fastest! For the record any of the proposals above suit me.

We might not be able to enter the open race being a Regional Championship

Good flapjack doesn't prevent chain offs, but I am sure it helps. Many chain off incidents can be attributed to the rear derailleur hanger not being properly aligned, well worth checking. Nice photos everyone!

Yup, I think that is the one to go for. The Open Race I assume?

I think I have these Claire. (Soreen bars as well?)

The CCA CX at Princess Helena College was, I think it is fair to say, a great sucess. I have received very favourable feedback. One injury to a Colchester rider, to whom we send our best wishes. This event was the result of much hard work from man…

Thank you to everyone who helped set up today. Special mention to Robert who zoomed off for more tape when we ran out. The course looks awesome and more to the point, according those who rode it, it rides well too. Please can the Core Team (you kn…

Heros to a man! Thank you.

I have tea and coffee and will bring milk and some sarnies. I am trusting in the great God of Bake Off that cakes will appear! Daisy is happy to serve until 13:00. We still need someone to voluteer to help and deal with the post 13:00 slot. J…

Good point Claire. The other thing is if you do get stuck wait for Dave's truck to pull you out rather than create a rut with spinning wheels. Hopefully it will stay dry and be firm ground!
-
Thanks guys, no need for mowers and machinery; everything was very easy. Se you Saturday afternoon.

Thank you for your offers of help - much appreciated. We visited the site today to plan the course. We have made minor changes mainly due to the famers field becoming 'infested' with huge flints and we have moved the pits. Looking good! We will n…

More rain than forecast, especially before the start. Great rides from Dave, 4:41, (despite forgetting his shoes) and Richard, 5:36. Dave did this despite crashing out at the cattle grid at Chapel le Dale. I also crashed at this point but sadly ha…

Thanks for the good wishes. Strange time now; nothing more to do but the nausia of self doubt is there in the background. It's like being gridded for 3 whole days! I will look at the weather forecast later on...

Richard, The final result from your attempt is just one part of what you have achieved. Having the vision, having the bravery to attempt it and then actually doing it are all huge achievements for which we all take inspiration from; chapeau!

Message to John Polak: "Does James need help?"

Martin, Thanks for your work resusitating our old friend!

Mark, Thanks for this initiative. I think it is a really good idea and recommend to all adult riders to do this session. Even if you are a proficient cyclist this is a chance to improve your bike handling skills. Daniel
