Luke, how was the punctured tub stuck on originally, glue or tape? Daniel
-
The lubricant needs to be at the interface between the pin and the inner links. These rotate (articulate) relative to the pin, and not the outer links. Too much cleaning could wash this away or the fluid remaining there might be some emulsion of cl…

Which chain lub are people using?
-
The best, and perhaps only, lubricant is oil. 'Dry' lubricants are based on stuff like PTFE, but these will be acting more like boundary lubricants than forming a proper hydrodynamic film between the moving parts. So you need oil in some form. To …

Is it an electric bike?
-
Great results there Will, Neil and Anthony! Well done.
-
Congratulations Harley. That's a great result for the club.
-
Very excited about this event. Thanks for the update.
-
I'm pretty sure Vittoria has a program to determine a recommended tyre pressure. Front slightly lower than rear. I'm sure the interweb will help you find it. By the way, which cement did you use to stick the tubs on?
-
Are you referring to the front tyre or the rear?
-
That photo is hilarious! We weren't even riding the event. If I remember MC led us on a route which co-incided with the sportive. Don't get me wrong, I wish Hitchin Nomads all the best with their sportive and their charity initiative.
-
Looks like a club run on the same roads we do club runs on the same day we do club runs on. Er... It is raising money for charity though.
-
Thanks Tom. I've entered this brilliant sportive. Recommended. See you there.
-
Careful what you say Tim. Mind you silk walled ones are probably okay to eat.
-
I'm just going to pretend I haven't seen that last post.
-
...and those tubs seem to have lost the knobbly thread. What pressure were you running them at? Good result so early in the season, nice one.
-
Sorry to hear this John. I hope you are not too shaken up.
-
I suspect Armstrong was storing other things in the cellar as well.
-
Good find Jane! Note these are the super skinner 21mm section tyres.
-
I ended up posting my back at the end of last season. I recall taking the safety pins out to get the number into a standard envelope! Not sure who the right person is to send it to now though is. Daniel

Indeed James what is this nonesense about waterproof trousers? My bibtights are not waterproof but keep me warm and are very comfortable. They are made by Assos.
-
Good question. Who has a suitable maturing cellar?
-
When you say thread do you mean in the tyre carcass? Stuart did try to put a CCA logo on his CX tubs before applying the waterproofing!
-
Nail varnish remover isn't pure acetone, I'm not sure what else is in it. Clear nail varnish is good for minor carbon fibre repairs.
-
Oh Jane, you are naughty!
-
Congratulations to all medal and trophy winners. Many thanks to Stef and Tim for hosting an excellent evening. Daniel
-
Tim, Sorry to hear you've had to deal with this situation. Especially as you will have had no warning. If nothing else a salutary reminder that we all need to use the roads with proper consideration for others. Daniel
-
I like this photo. Theo is sprinting to the line to beat Lewis Bulley, in the background you can see Lewis' brother holding his head in desperation. If you look closely you can also see some idiot in a CCA cap grinning from ear to ear!
-
Geoff, it is self evident that the filming was done by another competitor in the race. As this was an U12 race this was clearly not an adult.
-
Blimey, that was a faff! These are the results I could find. Sorry if I've missed anyone. U10 Mark Lightfoot 7th U12 (girls) Harley Pell 1st U12 (boys) Adam Lightfoot 8th Well done to all, especially Harley. I know Gareth was racing too because…
