The commentary discussion was pretty involved during that race!

'Big foot Field'?

New for this season (and going forward) is that the Police are requiring road races held in Cambridgeshire to use Accredited Marshals. There is therefore an impetus to increase the number of Accredited Marshals in our area. I encourage more CCA mem…

Great report Stef. The Lake District is an extraordinary part of the world and all the more so when the weather is kind as your stunning photos show. Hardknott and then Wrynose are colosal climbs; chapeau. Pleased the bike worked out well for yo…

Good to see Ashwell racing on Sunday. Both Richard and I were marshalling. That hill by the finish looked hard! Just learned that there will be an evening race on the same circuit as Sunday on July 11 starting at 19:00

Not been to one of these sessions before - great fun. Thanks Tim.

A guilt ride?

I might be able to help here. Let me check some details...

I think some of Tim’s off road route from Baldock to Ashwell could be adapted to be ‘G-Ride compliant’. The Icknield Way leaves Baldock on the east side of the town and heads south-east. Tim’s route goes south-west at Welbury Farm and the t…

10 out today for an excellent edition of the G-ride. Guests from Harpenden and that there London. We were also joined by Simon the notorious Frenchman from Saint Neots. Progress was interrupted in the morning by several punctures - those sensiti…

Probably 52cm. Not actually built up as a bike at the moment, but could be soon enough! ORA RANF (or something like that) steel with Italian lugs (it is probably Italian in origin). Not the lightest, but stiff and fast.

Too bad you're sorted. I have an ex Bio Racer Team bike which I am sure was built for crits. Awesome machine ideally suited to Ixworth.

Also a course with your name on it...
-
Yes Nat this sooooo your race. You ride and I'll take some photos...
-
Nathan - heal well my friend.

Well done to all taking part and especially Jackie and James. Glad you took my advice young Stuart. My views on Sunday were compromised by clouds of dust kicked up by unruly cyclists!
-
I have some Tufo file tread tubs (aka grass track tubs) going spare. Let me know if you are interested.

Bontrager GX0.

Simon, sorry I can't make this ride.

Great set of photos, an amazing landscape. A top prize, who wouldn't race their heart out for that?
-
The CCA Juniors raced here a few years back. We stayed at the excellent Youth Hostel in Oakhampton. If the same route is used I would advise studying the map as some (non CCA) riders did go the wrong way. This would be an ideal race for the Malt…

New bike? (Not sure my new bike will be ready by Friday and anyway looks like I am working that day)

Martin has been sainted?

This is a beautiful fairytale! Love it. Live the dream. Thanks for sharing the experience.

Well done team. Thanks for sharing the experience with your excellent reports.

I can't help but think they would have more control in the corners if they were riding fixed gear bikes...
-
Wow, I had forgotten this is tomorrow already!!!

Count me IN. Always a great day out, thanks for organising this again Mark.
