Nice one Vicky! Lloydy, where's that paperwork now, mate...
-
Ton up for me. Top cafe at Stisted. Run by cyclist owners. See their facebook page here.
-
Keep that pre-event training light and do a good one on Sunday, mate!
-
B-road bash out to that Stisted Caf is 95m. It's on my Garmin.
-
Thanks! I'll do the top justice, Scouse, don't worry. Yikes, less than 16 weeks to go, I'd better start my training...

What a fantastic day of cycling. I didn't half enjoy that... There were about 170 cyclists out over the 4 distances (50km, 100km, 150km, 200km) with about 50 on the 207km ride that Robbie and I did. Lots of Essex lanes and noticably less traffic tha…

Nice one! Club run part was 85m @ 19mph. Good effort everybody. As mentioned, I've got some (much) longer routes out that way for when you lightweights are up to it Just let me know... Shaun

Yeh, great ride. First day of Spring!

I'm willing to do an 8.00am Ashwell for once, but I'll be going WTF all the way to the start from 7.30am onwards @PhilK: It's approx 40-45mins to get to that A600 X-roads...
-
Last few have been between 17 and 18mph. Not set in stone though, we're just getting the miles in... What normally happens is that Carmelo and/or Jez half wheels it for a bit, then they peel off early (lightweights) and leave Robbie and me to comple…

I could take you on an elongated Grafham route with some different roads to the west of Bedford - just over 80m Ashwell to Ashwell. Something like: Langford, Haynes West End, Stewartby, Cranfield, Turvey, Harrold/Odell, Riseley, Swinshead, Gt. Staug…

I'll take the lift, Robbie, if nobody else needs it. Alternatively, I can take somebody over in my car, if there's anybody else who's entered (or thinking of entering) and needs a lift to Henham... Shaun

Should be there!

That was a good ride. 75m @ 17 and a bit. Enjoyed Sundon Hill. Well, I enjoyed watching Robbie struggle up it in a 70in fixed gear . Nice tailwind home, coffee at the Tuns AND back before the rain. Perfect. Ditto to Phil, get well soon mate. Shaun

See you all at 08.30

I'll be there. Shaun

I had a nice time in Portugal. Thanks goes to Skelders for sorting out the majority of the trip details. Nice one! Villa was faultless. Weather was fantastic, if a little chillier than expected. There were no arguments and the "Portugal 5" all playe…

I'm down for the 200km. Looking forward to it, although I've noticed that the final 200km road control is in Baldock which will make the leg back to Henham a bit of a trial... Shaun p.s. Anybody else comtemplating doing this, get your entry in soo…

You should give gears a try, Robbie. Maybe you'll like them. Desperately cold first thing but not too bad once we were on our way. Quite a stiff easterly wind stopped it being comfortable, though. We did seem to wimp out a bit distance wise today...…

Should be there.

Banging ride! Helped somewhat by the benign conditions (no wind), I recorded 81 @ 18.5 for the clubrun part. Nice. Well done to Theo who was in our little group at the end (yes, we did have CRB reps . Check that saddle height though mate... Rounds o…

Good ride today. Robbie, Jez, Carmello and Shaun were out. Jez was half-wheeling from the start and with Carmello around it was pretty brisk for most of the day. Ridng this way around the GD is a bit easier than riding the other way, so that helped…

"So do you need Carbs before and during the ride and protien after?" Generally, yes. It's mostly accepted that the protein after a ride should be taken with carbs in a certain ratio. 1:3 / 1:4 is often quoted. E.g. 25g protein with 100g carbs. I ag…

Looking good. I should be there. But, "going long" and only 70-80m?... Shaun
-
Damn, sorry for the late notice Robbie, I've got something I need to sort out tomorrow and so won't be out. Catch up with you soon, mate. Shaun

Thanks CCA Forum!

Thanks for the messages! I'll bump this thread nearer the time for the March 200s. Also, I've just noticed another local 200km ride in Feb (Sun 12th). It's a new event starting from Bedford and going out to the Cotswolds. See here: http://www.aukweb.…

Should be good for this. A tad disappointed there will not be fantastic gale force winds...
-
Enjoyed it. That bit around the Reed Transmitter was special. I was doing 8mph flat out into the teeth of a gale. Robbie came around me to up the pace... and managed to hold... 8mph!
