Should be there

Thanks Geoff for the great hospitality yet again. Starting to get my climbing legs back now. Looking forward to the next one...

Thanks for posting the routes, Geoff. Looking forward to next weekend and seeing your new bike!

I watched The Tour this afternoon and then had a kip...

Should be there

I'll be there for 10.30am on 24th Jul too.

I felt a bit hot and bothered throughout today's ride and then quite light-headed from 1/2 way. I drunk a fair amount but probably not enough. Also felt some of the lanes were a bit small to be group riding at speed. . Another 115 miles in the legs …

I'm making the early prediction of a beasting being handed out by the Marmotte guys...

John, you did well (as I knew you would). Long distance cycling (100+) is less about the distance and more about being comfortable on the bike (to avoid aches and pains) and finding a refuelling regime that works for you. With more practice, the easi…

PS It's going to be a great ride. I might even throw in ice creams at Rutland Water

John, In 8 weeks time we'll need to do roughly this distance (in harder terrain than tomorrow) and then recover enough to it again the next day... and the next day... and the next day... and then Ventoux... and then the next day. It will be worth y…

125 miles @ 15 mph = 8hr:20mins. 125 miles @ 17 mph = 7hr:20mins. That's not a big time difference. Equates to about 15 mins extra at each stop for the 17 mph group to keep everybody within 3-4 miles of each other all day, with everybody riding at th…

Fast B roads to Oundle via St. Ives and Sawtry. A lap around Rutland Water, some of it on the lakeside bike path. Some lumps after Oakham. Fast again after 2nd stop at Oundle. 137 good miles! Route: http://bikeroutetoaster.com/BRTWebUI/Course/810406…

Looks a good route! I'd like to climb over the North York Moors, so it gets my vote. I agree that on Paris Nice we should be riding within ourselves each day, whatever our ability. The six days riding will take its toll otherwise. I see the training…

I've got a 135 mile route out to Rutland Water and back. Quite fast. Two cafe stops in Oundle at 45 and 95 miles...

Thanks guys and girl and Phil for the perma-tow... (Now fixed my squeaky bearing)
-
Normally we do Shillington, Higham Gobian, Hexton, over the hill, then right to Streatley. The Sundon loop starts/finishes at Streatley and goes down Sharpenhoe Hill, Harlington, Up Sundon Hill (or the reverse of that).

I should be there

Enjoyed it! Thanks Geoff. I saw you guys crossing the A66 on Sunday. I turned up my car heater a touch as I went past you... Not forgetting the Killer Whales either Or the 'business plan'...

There's probably enough room in the caravan. I'm going to sleep in my tent again. I think Robbie is doing the same...
-
Hi Geoff Can you check the day 1 route. The URL you've posted says 'route not found'... See you on Friday.
-
My longest ride in a year. Pleased with that. I had to do a bit of back management towards the end but no pain, so improving nicely. Thanks for the company guys (and girl).
-
John, No real turnoffs early, we do 30 miles west. Cafe @ 37 miles. You can short-cut the route back for about 70 total. Gav, OK.
-
John, I'm not at full pace either at the moment. These guys are still dropping me a bit. You'll be fine
-
Normally go clockwise. It gets us to the cafe before it fills up...

Here's a possible route (from my archives). 130km / 81 miles. Pretty flat. http://bikeroutetoaster.com/BRTWebUI/Course/355118

Should be out. Harrold looks a good idea. Pretty easy navigation too...
