Fantastic Geoff. Don't know about BBC SPOTY, but you get my nomination for the CCA Merit Award...

Could go to Westmill Tearooms which is near Buntingford. http://goo.gl/maps/UQArw From hill climb via Therfield, Barkway and Wyddial it's about 12 miles. Or longer route if people want it, but we won't finish the hill climb until around 11.30am... …

Six out on the long ride to Rutland Water. Ashwell to Ashwell was 147 miles @ 17.1, so right on schedule. Just the one mishap when we somehow lost Martin for a while. It was a good ride, if a little tiring in the seemingly permanent crosswind. Thank…

There's a good tarmac cycle path around Rutland Water (that will be busy with recreational cyclists, walkers, etc). The path crosses some gravel car parks in places. Easy enough, though. Might revert back to the road on the north side as I seem to …

Changed start to 7am...

The Old Barn cafe opens at 9.30am. We could conceivably leave at 7am, do 44m @ 17s and arrive just as it opens... I'm scheduling 8.5hrs riding Ashwell to Ashwell (144 miles @ 17s) and around 1.5-2hrs for 4 stops. So 10-10.5 hrs total. You could t…

Great ride, well summed up by Will above. My memories? What am I doing riding a bike into London? (It wasn't too bad); cyclists and bicycles of all shapes and sizes in London Fields for the start; passing hundreds of cyclists early on thinking they…

I'll be round yours for 4pm. Going to eat food at home first. "My aim is to do the whole thing, but am aware of bailing points..." I laughed at that bit...

Looks like it will be a touch cooler over the weekend which will be good. Should be a nice 260m ride. See you Saturday. Shouldn't need to take much more than on a normal ride. Couple of tubes, small toolkit, emergency rations, gilet, arm warmers... …

Where do you want to go, Pete?

Grafham loop?

There are some nice hills in Yorkshire. I enjoyed the climbing a lot. There were some amazing views too. Thanks to MartinL for the drive and enthusiasm for sorting out the major details. Thanks to Martin's Dad and Uncle for giving up their time for …

Good read, Phil! Phil's 2009 Dunwich Dynamo

Enjoyed the Dragon Ride. That's another one ticked off. Great to see so many cyclists out. There were over 2000 finishers on the Gran Fondo alone. Scenery was excellent, highlighted nicely by the unexpected sunshine!

Interested (of course). Are we riding there as well?

I enjoyed my day. Love the Chilterns. Wish the local authority would mend the roads. Good to see 12 CCA members on the road together at the start. I think these are our results. They look correct to me: http://www.tdl.ltd.uk/race-results.php?event=1…

Coming your way, Strappy. Langford -> Henlow -> Henlow Camp. Meet you at mini-roundabout / Henlow fish bar / Stockbridge Road? ETA 8.30am.

Good luck, Chris. Hope it works out well for you!

Nine out. Good to do some different roads. 18s out, 19s back on a pretty flat course. Merit awards go to Gino, who dug deep and Dan P, who has great stamina for a junior. Cheers everyone.

The ride is on Saturday, MC...

OK, here's the route: 107 miles http://bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=544300 Ashwell, Wrestlingworth, Everton, Gt. Barford, Little Staughton, Swineshead, Raunds, Thrapston, Aldwincle (caf

Nice one, Johnny. A note on Robbie's 18mph average. Depends a bit on who's out. We'll ride at a pace suitable for the group as a whole.

Getting all my weekend miles in on Saturday, as helping out at the Primavera on Sunday. Hoping to make it out to Oundle, Northants (NW from Ashwell). About 100 miles. Quite a few new roads available! Reasonably flat route (bit like an extended Grafha…

Yes, I am planning a longer ride this Saturday if that's of any use? (As Andrew says, a lot of people riding/helping on the Primavera on Sunday. I, for one, am getting all my weekend miles in on Saturday). Watch out for separate forum post soon.

I've registered and paid.

Robbie's got a Garmin and knows how to use it. Have a good ride on Saturday. And a heads up, I'm going to organise another 100 miler for Sat 18th May, two weeks before the Chiltern 100.

My advice on 'teams' would be to not get too hung up over them. If there is a group of 4 who want to go for it, then go for it. For everyone else the team element is probably less / not important. This team entry process has been a useful vehicle f…
