It was a very enjoyable ride and about 30 miles longer than I planned, this may have led to me blowing up spectacularly 3 miles from home and crawling back at 20kph...
Thanks Carmelo for the route and the entertainment! -
I'll be joining for a bit, probably about 40miles
-
My meteoric cx rise continues, from the 78th percentile up to the lofty heights of the 77th!

It was great fun today, a really good course. Pretty slippery in places but it must have dried up a lot for the senior race as there didn't seem to be too many crashes, at least not that i could see from the back of the pack.

Signed up so now there are at least 2 who have ticked 'beginner'.
-
I'm keen to join for an hour or two, especially if you're headed towards the blue egg (i can provide directions...) cos then i can nip home quickly. Got to be back for 10ish.
-
Thanks all for kind offers of a lift, looks like i'm sorted in both directions. Much appreciated.
Looking forward to it, although i should probably do at least a few practice mounts and dismounts before sunday... -
Entered and ready to go! Any chance i can get a lift from someone? I'm in Royston but can get the train further south if required.

Great fun today. Thanks to Tim and all the helpers, and I managed to bag a 'podium'!
There's some good pain faces going on too. -
Thanks all, managed to locate chalk hill from your sterling directions. Did a practice run of Coombe rd on this morning's ride, i reckon sunday will be pretty painful... Looking forward too it!
Will, I see you are a man of your word... -
Conti 4 seasons FTW. I use them and when I used to do a long commute to and from cambridge in all weathers and on muddy, flinty lanes, I never once had a puncture. Worth every penny and they are occasionally on offer!

Is there going to be a group heading over to chalk hill from Ashwell? If not then where exactly is chalk hill?
-
There was a good group for the faster ride too, including my extra bit to and from Royston it was 65 miles at 18.6.
Looking forward to the hill climb next week!
