It was a good route and great to get a sunny ride in, thanks to Carmelo for navigating. Not sure what was going on on the way back from Henlow. Turned from a festive fifty into more of a smashfest with riders spat out the back on a regular basis..…

I used to commute 16 miles every day from saffron walden to Cambridge, come rain, ice or snow! Lights are powerful enough nowadays that it's not an issue and the number of owls, deer etc I saw made it well worth riding at dawn and before. I used to …

I'm planning to tag along for a bit.

Sounds like getting in the early waves is essential. I managed to wangle a late 'substitution' entry so I was riding as Adam Mackenzie for the day! Fortunately he had an early start of 0639, orange, G. It was a great fast run out of London 'surfing'…

I used to get this problem too, it would be really painful after long hot rides, especially after I knocked my toe on the edge of the bath, ouch! I got a pair of bonts and that solved the issue almost completely with their big toe box. Having read…

Well that was a hell of a day. Just snuck in over 200km door to door. Tucking into some recovery lamb casserole, just need some malted recovery beverages to match... Thanks to Martin for putting it all together and apologies for heading off into t…

Managed to stay nice and dry for a good 3.5hrs with Bryn, Strappy and Iain. We managed to not suffer too much from the wind by my reckoning.
-
I am keen for this if deemed quick enough.
-
Cheers for the ride Tim and well done to Tom, Cam and Will for providing the entertainment! It all worked out really well and we got to see the race 4 times over the last 2 laps.
-
I'm keen for the b team, not over 40 but I do have a beard...
-
I am keen for this!

Anyone going from Royston way? Turns out due to a calendar mix up I'm carless tomorrow evening... Tom mentioned he's likely coming along but not sure he's on the forum much...

This goes over my old neck of the woods, count me in as a keen bean!
-
Incidentally, i have just upgraded to a full racing license. Just need to enter a race now!

I am totally up for this and very frustrated that I am on a stag do that weekend that starts early on the friday, arghhh! Looks like a lot of fun and gutted to miss it.

That may explain the geo restriction if eurosport have the rights. Worth checking here: http://www.cyclingfans.com/uci-cyclocross-world-championships/live For live streams if geo restriction is still in place today.

We managed to find the sketchiest bit of road in all of Hertfordshire, 500m+ of black ice with Cam and Strappy both going down, miraculously Tom and I stayed upright, until Tom stopped, turned round and then slipped over! Strappy, hope the hip is …

I'll be there at 9, I reckon it'll be better than today, forecast isn't as cold.
-
I won't be joining you today but thought a Royston weather update might be useful, there has been just a light frost but not too bad.
-
Good luck for tomorrow, wind's supposed to be 30mph gusting to 50, should make it interesting but puts me off a little!
-
Well I took part from afar, joined the Kenilworth wheelers for a chilled 50, does that count?
-
Forgive me for possibly a stupid question, but what's the nearest tube/overgrown station or the best way to get there from the kings cross line? I can't see any 'how to get here' section on the website...

Road ride was good, only the odd patch of ice to avoid, we split at saffron Walden and headed back via duxford, there was a he'll of a headwind all the way back from newton!

Bike: size 61

Well I set off in good time for a careful ride to Ashwell but by the time i got towards Litlington my path was blocked by a very slippery looking stretch of road. Discretion being the greater part of valour I decided to stick to the grippier roads a…

Let's do it, I knew i bought new overshoes for a reason!

I'm keen to join for some of the advertised route and pull off early back to Royston. I reckon we'll be ok with the weather, there's no rain forecast and the roads don't seem too wet, what's the worst that could happen...? But seriously, safety fir…

It was a fantastic day, spent most of the men's race running circles round the monument thingy. Great course design where you could see 90% of the race from one spot. Even my wife begrudgingly derived some enjoyment from it!

Hi both, seen the whispers (which is a pretty cool feature!). Answers via whisper or email!
