For 6 days now when I attempt to create my Garmin Express account 'There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers We are unable to sign you in because our servers are unavailable at this time' I'm sure it's great when it's working, but it won…

The plugin option disappeared last week, not sure why, I liked it. I spent a frustrating couple of hours last Friday trying to link Strava and Garmin Connect with Garmin Express, without success. Eventually resorted to uploading from file. For short…

Quite happy to be on the top at the half way stage, I doubt it will last. However, the purpose of this post is to query the validity of my nearest rival, Esparregado, who would appear to be a Portuguese person with, as far as I know, no association w…

Glad I rode the Spring version, as I'm going to have to miss this one. Not too gutted though, as I'm off back to Mallorca for another week riding in the sun. I'll miss the badge though!

Agree with the above comments about hiring a bike, I've hired a bike from Pro Cycle Hire for the last six years and never been disappointed, and I'm off back for more fun in the sun in September. General consensus amongst the regulars I cycle with o…

Count me in too, on the Club Run.

I'm in, lights and Garmin charging. If my wonky knees start playing up too much, I have the option to bail out and catch a train back from Ely or Downham Market. Hopefully will be fine, as long as we keep the pace steady.

I'm up for it, providing it's fair weather and hopefully not a strong easterly wind. I don't fancy Belgian weather! Is 9.00 not a bit of a late start? The three rides I've done all started at 8.00 and this one, at 15-16 mph, might be a tad slower. …

Not in a desperate rush Will, too cold to wear it at the moment anyway. Do you need payment now, or can it wait until I pick it up, probably May Club Night? Vic

Happy to help with signage again, as well as marshalling.

According to the mechanic at Pro Cycle Hire in Mallorca, who chastised me when pumping my tyres to 110 - 115 psi; its been shown that you wont go any faster with pressures above 100psi, but you will wear your tyres out much faster. I've always heede…

A few months ago I managed to drive from Ashwell to Guiden Morden before I realised that I'd left my Samsung S4 on the roof of my car after a Wednesday ride! Imagine my surprise and relief when I stopped and it was still on the roof. I would like to…

It's a pity it wasn't live on TV here, especially as it's the first time that the UK has hosted a round of the CX World Cup. The live coverage on the UCI You Tube channel was great and I spotted a few CCA caps in the crowd. There are highlights of b…

Great ride, route and company despite the filthy roads - thanks Dave. Olly you want to ask Santa for a copy of Micheal Jackson's 'Great Beers of Belgium', still the best guide.

I'm out, as long as it too foggy to be safe on a bike

I was quite impressed by a young chap, I saw on holiday in Malta last week, who had somehow managed to cobble together a 2 stroke engine and a mountain bike (quite fast, but very noisy). This video takes powered bicycles to another level, looks fun…

Emmak, You mind find this article, just published on the Wheelsuckers website, informative: Guide to Cycling in Mallorca

I'll second Pro Cycle Hire, been using them for 5 years and never had a problem. Good bikes and friendly, efficient service. Depending on when you are going, I would recommend booking your bike early, as the better bikes book up really quickly at pea…

Nice ride today; perfect weather, good route and tidy riding. 47.5 miles at 17.5 mph, not too shabby either. Thanks Dave

I banked on Quintana too, so the curse of being in my team continues. I had Froome, Bertie and Cav in the TdF! Wiggo is in my ToB squad, he should be afraid, very afraid.

From the point of view of getting 32 riders on the train back, it's probably best that everyone didn't go to the pub and then try to get on the same train. Mind you, I do enjoy a couple of malted recovery drinks after a day in the saddle and wasn't i…

Another great CCA day out to the seaside, as others have said, a massive thanks to Martin for organising. True to form, me and my Garmin managed to separate a small group from the main peleton! Highlight, was somehow navigating back to meet the grou…

The chip shops in Wells sell bottles of water, its a bit pricey, but best to fill up anyway.
-
Garmin charged and ready My test on the way back from pub night successfully navigated me from the Tuns to the right turn at the top of the Col de Arrington, hopefully the rest of the route works too.
-
Garmin or not, if you appoint me to navigate a group to Wells, we have a fairly good chance of ending up in Blackpool! Without reading glasses, I struggle to read the tiny maps on my Garmin. I crashed into Strappy last year trying to read it in the …

Not long to go to enter this now. Gamlingay Wheelers ride again, I hope they can stay off the deck this time!

Out-voted 9 to 1 on the choice of route this morning, but in the end I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and certainly needed the hill training. Thanks David for a good workout!

I think I might have found a solution to catering for the masses in Narborough. Up for it Tim? You could leave it in Narborough and Robbie could bring it back!

Despite the wet, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. It wasn't as windy as I expected and although it was the wettest sporting activity I have done without wearing trunks, it wasn't too cold or muddy. Met up With Mark and Stevie on the way to the start …

Latest email from the organisers talks about shortening the route, omitting Leith and Box Hill if the weather conditions require it. Not sure I'm going to enjoy it but it should be epic.
