  • I enjoyed it immensely last time, except my for tyre exploding with Mick G's CO2! I won't be doing it on worn Pro 3s this time, that's for sure! I'm about 95% sure I can make it at the moment and I really want another badge!
  • Imagine how fast you would come down if the chain snapped!
  • Capt. Blue Egg is a cafe in Essex - about a 73 mile round trip from Ashwell - won't be back for lunch. Happy to do a shorter ride that gets back around noon. Vic
  • There's an android version of Ride ID too. Just installed on my Samsung Great idea

  • 'Chuckle' ? The rules are to be obeyed, not mocked! Yes, they have been posted before, but in order to improve compliance within the club, there's no harm in mentioning them again. The recently published hard copy is a good laugh too, being an ex…
  • Definately a hot one, but was great to be on my bike again after Hampton Court Flower Show. Good route and company - thanks - 49.2 mile at 17.3 for me and the shower after never felt so good!
  • I'm in; Gamlingay Wheelers ride again!
  • No problem, just one space left. Just stocked up with Voakes Pork Pies for the journey home (4x Yorkshire Supreme Pork Pie Champions); passengers are in for a treat! Voakes Pies
  • Still two return places left with me if needed? I'm off up t'north in a bit and won't be accessing the Forum a lot, but will check tomorrow. See you all in Manchester
  • Just given this ride it's own discussion topic, as I think people who want to join us might miss it hidden away at the end of a discussion about Wednesday rides.
  • Friday looks like quite a good day for a ride, dry and warm, but not very sunny. Provided my new bottom bracket arrives tomorrow morning, as promised, I'm up for it. 9.00 or 9-30 start?
  • I have space for three without bikes or one with a bike coming back, I'm in Yorkshire on Saturday night. I think Geoff and Stef have space going up to Manchester, but not going back? Vic
  • Home before noon and Shimano crankset, bottom bracket and crank installing tool all ordered this afternoon, so should have the bike back on the road on a couple of days. FSA only have a 2 year warranty on their parts and I've had the bike since Octo…
  • Just my luck, I was feeling nice and comfortable on my bike after a couple of weeks out with man flu and my crank snapped after 16 miles. thanks for everyone that helped; Carmelo and the chap from the RAF who pushed me up the hill as I pedalled one-l…
  • Some good points made there and I agree with almost all of it. However, I shall be keeping my cycling shorts on immediately after a ride and for the benefit of the residents of Ashwell, may I be so bold as to suggest that all other club riders do to…
  • Geoff, I presume that you want all this information emailed to you? The National Cycling Centre web site has a useful size guide to their track bikes as well as other information. Track Bike Size Guide
  • I'm still coming Vic
  • Think of it as an investment Will, with such a small run, a mint condition cap can only increase in value as all those that didn't order one realize they should have!
  • Jeremy Clarkson “Trespassers in the motorcars domain, they do not pay road tax and therefore have no right to be on the road, some of them even believe they are going fast enough to not be an obstruction. Run them down to prove them wrong” James M…
  • Fantastic job by Carmelo again for putting so in much work and making this race happen. With the warm sun, marshalling was a very pleasant couple of hours spent watching the race and bit of the air-show too! I can't write a report on the event, but …
  • Unless I make a miraculous recovery from the stinking cold that I have at the moment, I'll have to give tomorrow a miss. I feel a bit like Sir Bradley looked on yesterday's stage of the Giro. Final decision in the morning, but don't wait for me.
  • I use Wiggle quite a lot and they are no worse than their competitors, other large online retailers such as Evans, Chain Reaction Cycles, Parker International etc. The site can be quite tedious to navigate, but then so are other large sites which c…

  • Better early than late, I'll be there at 08.00
  • Carmelo, What time do you want myself and any others marking the route to turn up? I think we were there at 08.00 last year - same again? Vic
  • Thanks for running this mornings session Tim, hard work, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. More of the same next Saturday and hopefully, less vino on Friday night!
  • It might be worth mentioning that Pinarello sizing is different to other bike brands. I ride a 51cm Pina, which is equivelent to a 54cm in most other bike brands like Trek. A 53cm frame will be equivelent to about a 57cm frame.
  • I'll be there about 9-30, if it is rained off I'll join the Saturday ride
  • 6 out for a steady 40 miles at 17.7 mph. Flat route out to Duxford and back via Chapel Hill. Nice to be out in the sun.
  • I need to be back in Gamlingay by then = 40-45 mile ride
  • I'm still up for this and will be at the3 Tuns for 9-30, hopefully, I won't be alone. Come on out to play boys and girls, you know you want to work on those sharp tan lines, and this weather isn't going to last all week!
