I dunno I've only ever ridden for racing teams
-
??? just trying to establish how often you'd be able to put a team out if I joined. I can recall seeing Carmello once and one other guy if memory serves. I'm currently clubless and looking for inspiration!!!
-
I won't be there as I have an hours 53x15 session in zone 4 :o( whats left of me will be out on sunday...
-
I may pop across as i get fitter subject to whatever my coach has in mind...
-
what exactly is a sportif? is it some kind of unofficial race? are there any regs about bikes etc?
-
forced myself out for another 30 last night and again tonight, bought some assoss shorts as my fat @rse needs some tlc!
-
I only ask because if I were to join a lot of the more local tt's are ecca association only.
-
on a more positive note can I thank Carmello for telling me I 'had' to ride with the fast group and for him setting a more sustainable pace after the intial breakaway was caught. It was also a privilage to watch ash glide along effortlessly and to s…

i've been fishing lately keith! got bored with the racing but now my jeans wont do up! get those knees sorted and I'll see you in the winter :)
-
I rode out to watch bradley wiggins, have to say ash looked awsome and claimed a lot of very good scalps. As I've said before it's a real shame he's slipped through your fingers. My first ride for a while and 93 miles later I was well and truely f…

many thanks to those lads who bailed me out! forgive me if I can't put names to faces :) My daily diet of short hard rides didn't really prepare me for the near epic yesterday, 96 miles which I didn't have the heart to stretch to 100. New tyre and…

hmmm.....the roads are a bit rough for my £60 a go tyres, i'll try and fit one in before I retire again...:)
-
anyone out? I need a few miles....
-
22.44 to be precise.....;)
-
you did well to follow ash for any distance, he's got real talent! it's a real loss to the club and a real bonus to of all clubs sleepy little beds roads...He's a nice guy and I wish him great sucess..
The 100k was a good route, perha… -
Chapeau to you malcom G, never worry about holding the group up. There was a mix of hardened riders and guys just beggining proper training so tired legs were enevitable...Respect to anyone who comes out on the big boys ride....
I know… -
Good ride today, I carried on to make 101 miles with a leg out to abbotsley after riding home with trahern...Might be my last one for a bit so have a good season and see you on the road some time :)
-
I'll be out though 60 miles seems a bit short with the season already underway for some...spose I can add some on at the end...
-
yaaaarg that hurt! congrats to ash and trahearn for getting round, 11 of us in the front group out of 80ish starters. I went on to make it a round 100 for the day and 315 for the week!
-
I'll be there, they give you a map and theres tea and cakes in the club house...Whats the worst that can happen!!
-
Yeah I'm not far off, 250 miles a week every week does that for you! Still scraping the 4K together for a new bike, but should be sorted in a few weeks. It takes a few races to get the rough off, credit to ash for being fit so early. Take your …

I nipped down to billericay for the SEG 75, a bit of a traditional stretching of legs for essex riders. 75 miles at 19's with plenty of short hills, next week is the beds roads I think...Congrats to Ash!!
-
I went out on wednesday night 33 miles...found a couple of roads with snow still on them. If things carry on as they are we may all have wednesdays free..
-
Hope everyone got out ok, I did a loop out to hitchin and bedford. There was snow in the backroads but a clear line through most of it....The racing seasons nearly here :o)
-
just done 50 miles, mostly OK but black ice in the shade at mid-day. I think I'll have a lay in and get out in the afternoon when it's safer, I've got 200 in already this week!
-
I will be out if it looks safe, the beds roads have cancelled the reliability trial. An 11am start might be a better option though :0)
-
took wednesday afternoon off and tried the loop out around to welwyn, turned back at rushden and headed home the long way...53 miles...1250 this year
-
the turn at wrestlingworth is very dodgy, it's a busy road and vision isn't great. Ideally you need a marshall in a high viz jacket there....
-
I rounded it off to 72 miles making 265 for the week and more than 1100 for 2009. Much better format doing 5 minute turns plus the weaker ones can roll through and stay on...My weight is down 10lbs from November, but my back is fecked.... need to s…

Oooer sounds like a lot of politics going on here....I know us racy types can be a bit of a nuisance but we mean well. With the season 8 weeks away now is not the time for hiding in the slow group or god forbid a middle group. Admittedly the fast g…
