  • More of a wobble than a limp for me with that buckled wheel and barely working front brake. No real damage, just scuffs on elbow, knee and heel with a nicely developing hip bruise but nothing that won't soon heal. Anyway 64 miles achieved, shame I d…
  • I'm in for the 17th, don't believe for 1 minute that Stu will be porting the lantern rouge after my limpback to the fray this year, my last man monicker is coming too true, btw thanks to Stef, Des, Strappy and Vince for waiting last week. Can't make…
  • I'm in again please, as before single room, I snore like the wife the whale tells me.
Brilliant weekend in 2010, unforgettable moments are the 2 Tim's Saturday morning and Geff's figleaf on the Sunday. Both can be topped I'm sure no pun intent…

  • Braved it at 10:30 from letchworth. Got a puncture at 30 and then couldn't get the skewer to do up properly, limped home with frozen fingers and toes after that, glad of the up-hills for a warm. Garmin recorded an average of -1.6C, nozzle froze and …
  • Saturday would be a great idea, neither the club nor those hill climbs starting at 8 are right for me. However now that winter is upon us the Sunday medium or medium fast whatever people call it is just where the inbetweeners would be. Today was 66 …
  • Tim H, my driver. I should make the 3 Tuns tomorrow so we can discuss arrangements then. If I can't make it I'll hope to see you on the Sunday ride, my first for 4 weeks due to holidays. I hope you'll recognise me with the extra half a stone !
  • Tim, I'd like a place on the trailer please. I don't know where you live so could you whisper your address to me please ?

    Thanks
  • Mmm Sundon my favourite lumpy bit ! I was just about to pour a 2nd glass of Dalwhinnie, well why not, I'll be last up Sundon whatever so see you in the layby.
  • No apologies required Robbie, I have neither a gripe with the nasty mentality nor a problem dropping off the back, however in my initiation weeks last year there was very often 4 groups, club, medium, medium fast and then a nasty and I slotted well …
  • Excellent ride but a straange one. We started in a group of about 15, split into 3 at Weston, then back into 2 at Graveley. 50ish miles later group 1, which was down to 3, met group 2 which was down to 2 (me and Martin) re grouped and headed for Ash…
  • Stu. The road just past the cemetery that runs to the springs and The Tuns normally has space, that's where I'll be parking, c u Sunday.

Geoff. Do you still plan to drive and could you take my 'supplies' with you ?

    Kevin
  • Ops, looks like i nearly missed it so put my name down please for the trip and a M shirt. what's the difference between regular and pro shirts please ?
    Merci
  • Great ride, at about half way it was 18.3 mph, that longest hill was a 'treat', I'll take 2 bottles next time !
  • Sounds a good one, shame I couldn't make it. I got up Sunday morning, paddled through the hall and followed the flow through to the washing machine ! So spent Sunday morn mopping up and trying to repair the xxxxxx thing. Hope to be out next weekend.
  • Me too, was looking forward to it. Snow in Letchworth too. Mountain bike will get a spin later.
  • Looks good to me, will have to drive over otherwise it'd be an 88 miler ! See you at 37.
  • Ha ah, just looked at the route so I'll probably pick you up at Baldock at the lights or next roundabout.
  • Thanks Geoff

I'll attempt the 08:30 Saturday then, so I'll probably drive over, is there ample parking close to 37 ?
  • So there's a Sunday club run starting at 09:30, a Sunday 'Nasty' albeit a steady nasty starting at 09:00, a Saturday middle at 09:30 and not I think (hope) 08:30 as in title of thread.
Dependent on weather I'll be at 37 at 09:30 Sat or Cem at …
  • Yea a good ride, thoroughly enjoyed it and a huge thank you to, I think, Ash or Alex from Hitchin who came back and stayed with me until I knew where I was (not bonked just lost). Hope everyone else got back ok. Not there next week but hopefully the…
  • As one of the guest newbies I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and I was very pleased with my efforts having not ridden a road bike for 30 years, which we called racing bikes back then, until 3 weeks ago. I ended up with the group of 5 at H…
  • Hi.
I've never been out with your club before. I intend to come over to try a ride so I'll be at the Garage at 9:00, if I can find it !
