  • cheers guys thats really helpful. It looks pretty steady then looks as if it gets a fair bit steeper half way up, but at least this time it's just a constant climb!

Any more takers? i think we have 7 so far. we need at least 8 to score maximum points.

HQ is Streatley village hall open from 9.00.

    Start time is 10.30

There are refreshments in the Chequers pub afterwards, what more could you want?
  • ^ Is this another one where we ride there together?
  • The signing on is at the village hall in Streatley. Those involved could ride over, i think its about 22 miles away so would probably need to leave the Tuns by 8.30?
I will probably drive over and i think Stef is as well as he needs to get away afterwards.

Post here if you're riding out.
  • I will ride over if it's not due to rain, so will decide when seeing the forecast the day before.

I'll be coming from Great Chishill, so if people are riding over it would be easier for me to join the group after Baldock somewhere depending on the route taken, if a group is going please kindly post the route.

Or if no one else is doing it, and it's not due to rain, i can meet you somewhere Nathaniel.

i will be riding over from northill (weather dependant) - only 15 miles = good/about right warm up

    big ring?
  • Definately big ring! (first 50 metres anyway)
  • Start sheet as follows, sorry about the format, forum doesn't like tables!

  • Good luck all!

Not sure I can ride tomorrow, but if so, we might get a club ride out to support you ... and to bring home any hill-climbers who didn't take cars to Sharpenhoe
  • Sharpenhoe Clappers is exactly 20 miles from Ashwell via Hinxworth, Henlow, Shillington, Hexton, Streatley. With a 9am start, you should get to the hill climb finish line before the action starts at 10.31am...
  • Good call Jane...I spoke to Tim earlier and said I would do a club run out there...beat me to it so see you all tomorrow.....if we leave sharp at 9 we should be there in time for the start....we can watch and cheer them on...have a tea and cake then cycle back
  • There is a revised start list that has replaced Nathaniel with Phil K, so we are back to being 1 short! Unless its an error.

    Icknield RC -101
These are currently provisional totals. Well done to all competitors and thanks to all those who contribute behind the scenes to make these events a success.
  • Well done CCA. Great ride Cam. Sorry about my effort :(

Thanks to everyone whose taken part in the series. We won 1 round this year and finish second to BRCC. A lot of people have said how CCA's participation has reinvigorated a fading series and we should be pleased with our efforts and conduct this year.

    Maybe next year eh?
  • Enjoyed that, the hill was a great example of pacing yourself so you don't blow out on the steep.

I never actually worked out where the start and finish were until I coasted down for my start, a few others weren't expecting the flat sprint at the end!

Still, I don't think this or last week will have quite prepared me for next Sunday...
  • Anyone know who the photogrpher was on this course, there should be some very interesting expressions from the competitors!
