Should be there this Saturday. Will deffo be steady for me as recovering from a cold.
Any thoughts on route? -
Nice work Robbie. Suggest keep the Enigma set up for road. Good excuse to buy a new bike!
-
I use Paynes too - really good people to deal with.

The flaps made riding in a group far more bearable in the wet. Was a great lesson in how to ride properly as a group. Will does a great job of giving feedback during the ride to keep everyone together. 60-70miles on a tough Winter day but don't feel …

I assume you mean your Pinnacle - that will be fine.
See you tomorrow at 9am. -
Dismay at speed bumps on the chain gang circuit.
Are they going to impact on summer Tuesday's? -
Aiming to join you for this. Long is good.

Guys - will be going out later. Got battered in the wind yesterday. Feeling tired - just want a gentle spin.
-
Anybody planning to join Will tomorrow?
I'm a possible if the winds have dropped. -
Five out: myself, Robbie, AndyR, PeteW and prospective new member Daniel.
The classic route around Stevenage via Hexton, Whitwell, Datchworth etc. Super fast downwind and super slow against. Good ride and banter as always. Ended up with … -
Will be at the Tuns at 8am. Bourne sounds good.
Strong gusty winds forecast - may go solo if really bad.

I commute the 16miles from Langford to Stevenage on a mixture of B-roads and lanes via Hitchin. My recommendations are:
All USB rechargeable and get recharge kits at work and home.
Have at least two rear lights in case one fails.Interesting thread. I applaud anybody in the club willing to initiate and organise. I'd argue that the existing weekend club runs are quite homogeneous and mostly cater for weekend warriors wanting a group ride with a with a bit of healthy competitio…Really enjoyed that today and thanks to Shaun for creating such an interesting route. Quite a big group for the 8am Saturday ride and good to see some of the racing members out.
It was one of those puncture/wheel nightmare days for Vince…Black Friday at Trisports. New hoops from Mavic to try tomorrow :)Yowzer! Good to do Shaun's route and that birthday pint.
See you at the Tuns.Well done to both Mitchy and Robbie on getting through this.
Guess you guys will be entering a local track league in 2016?Saw you guys on the hill out of Langford. Was in my warm Audi. Looked like a beasting day and respect to those that ventured out. Reckon next weekend best for Shauns ride.Happy birthday Shaun. Unfortunately sending apologies - got a family weekend that has already been rearranged once which scuppers any cycling plans.
Looks like a good route and hope the ride goes well.
JPExcellent. So far we've got:
Robbie
Jane
Martin H
Jeremy
Martin WI rode out to the Tuns and met two other CCA. Nearly got blown off twice on the way to the pub. Felt a bit anti-social but made decision to ride alone. Was the best call. Did two bridges with some extra bits added in. Wasn't that much fun to be hones…Looks interesting although it is a corporate event and unlikely there'll be more than a hint of danger.
Good luck to those that ride. I reckon the smart move is to watch and enjoy a couple of beers and a hot dog.FD returning from sick leave. Soggy and groggy on Sunday.
All hands needed to give pale shelter. You give me cold hands etc
Definitely out regardless of the weather.
JPGoing to Revolution at the Lee Valley Velodrome. Will be out Sunday instead.
Looks like it will develop into another wet and windy ride - take care.I was talking to colleagues at work who said this was commonplace. The folks in the churchyard at Datchworth were really friendly and curious as to where we'd come from. Unfortunately one man decided to shout to a young boy across our CCA group whils…Entered on line through British Cycling tonight. £46 including credit card surcharge.Happy Birthday for today John!
Would be nice to dedicate a club ride later this month to celebrate.About 10 out and the usual eclectic mix of CCA members on the 9.30am. Headed south on a loop around Stevenage via Watton and Knebworth. A pleasant ride with only a couple of punctures to hamper our progress. I ended up with about 50 on the clock at c…Hoping to be out. Looks like it will be a rudderless ship with the Captain gone awol.
Maybe head south and enjoy a tailwind home? Head down to Watton-at-Stone, Datchworth, Knobworth, Codicote, Whitwell (Emily's anybody?), Lilley Bottom a…Just looking at Toma's picture. It has Toma in it? Who is the mystery photographer?
