Of course you can, Geoff.

Phil's turbo sessions were more epic than my BCM600...

Will I think I was on the CCA ride you mention, if you were the guy on the red Cervelo? We chatted at the 3 Tuns afterwards. Sorry to hear about your recent accident. Hope to see you out again once you're mended. Shaun

They're going to be filming the Rapha Cent Cols in the summer, unfortunately not my Alps one but the one in the Dolomites.
-
Well done lads. Nice write ups Daniel and Martin. I need to take some photos to record my efforts...

Garmin stuff, if anybody is interested in the route: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/180606289 http://connect.garmin.com/activity/180606249

I did mention sheep, wild horses and 3 large cows, especially for you Phil. Didn't see any pirates though for the 2nd time. I also got bitten by a farm dog but didn't say. Oh and I saw 4 dead badgers.

The first two cyclists were leaving as I arrived and two more arrived after I'd got my card stamped and got some food at the village shop. The three of us sat on the bench opposite the shop and talked about our ailments and mused over the number of e…

The run in to the Menai Bridge (314km) was uninspiring and the headwind and increasing traffic levels made it a tetchy affair for me. My recovery effort wasn't complete and I was still suffering a little, but I'd reached the half-way point and I was …

Nearly 100 intrepid riders were on the start line as Mark the organiser, who was steping down after running the event for the past 9 years, gave his farewell speech. There was a spontaneous round of (gloved hand) applause as he concluded and then he …

Enjoyed the Wednesday run today. As you say just about the right pace. Liking the new bike, Jane! Good point Chris about a Sunday Inbetweeners ride. The Nasties club run was a bit nasty, we averaged nearly 20mph which was faster than I wanted that …
-
That's fine Chris. I was only going to take the place if nobody else wanted it. Tell your mate HE'S IN!
-
I'll take the entry if nobody else comes forward. If somebody "really wants to do this ride", say so, and I'll step aside.
-
Nice one, Carmelo.
-
@PhilA: Are you commenting on the cycling or the drunk female pirates and the horse with the large donger? @Stef: We weren't being as "nasty" as it reads! From the last control there was a long and very cold downhill. The other guy (who appeared to …

If the following is a bit tl;dr then here's the summary: Robbie and Shaun went for a second bike ride in Wales. Stats: 254 miles @ just under 16s. The Travelodge was a little less ropey this time. My sleep was still fitful, although I was fast asle…

Good riding everybody. Enjoyed it. Great cafes. Thanks for the route, Stef. Nice touch laying on LEJOG weather training as well...
-
Thanks for the route, Stef. On me Garmin. See you Saturday.

Finished with 90m and most of them weren't in the rain for a change. (How quickly you forget the preceding six months of dry weather). Great cafe at Harrold-Odell Country Park.
-
Worthwhile going NW? Into wind and maybe less rain... Ashwell, Ireland, Stewartby, Newport Pagnell (near), Olney, Lavendon, Harrold (cafe 45m), Thurleigh, Renhold, Gt. Bardfield, Blunham and in. 80 miles.

I'm climbing Ventoux in August as part of my Rapha Cent Cols Challenge. James, you should do the three routes. A great challenge, but doable if you start early enough. Anything less would be a missed opportunity!
-
Should be there.

Actually it could've easily been 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 without the two deflations, a cup of tea and a mars bar... It was a group effort, MC. (After all, it ain't a race!). I had an advantage on some of the later climbs, but I was benefiting nicely on the fl…

and a pie, Robbie. Don't forget the pie...

To borrow from JFK: "We choose to do Yr Elenydd and other audax events, not because they are easy, but because they are hard". Just totalling up my food consumption that day. My stomach did well too. Muesli with milk, Orange Juice, Beetroot Juice, Y…

One hundred intrepid cyclists made their way to Upton Magna nr. Shrewsbury for a long bike ride. Robbie and Shaun were two of them... After a fitful night's sleep in a ropey Travelodge, we drove the short distance to the start to find the place alre…

I was joking, of course, Skelders Just thinking Phil, if we had waited would we have been even faster? Same with MC and his cuppa tea? Maybe...

Oi, I'm 4th as well! My timing chip didn't register and I was asked to walk over the mat again a couple of minutes later...

Rolling out with a CCA peleton of 10/11 and then quickly 7: MC, Robbie, PhilK, TimS, TimD, Ian and Shaun. Rainy conditions throughout but not too bad really. A couple of early punctures for Robbie and Phil sadly reduced our number. Quite a hard pace …
