I had a look at the Zabriskie article, and it's thin on actual dietary detail. I found this daily breakdown: 323 grams of protein, 239 grams of fat, and 147 grams of carbohydrate. I am not sure if that is supposed to be typical of in-competition…

Guys. Let's not pretend there are any serious endurance athletes following ketogenic diets and being successful in their sports. It is simply not possible to produce the required energy from fat in the required timescale. Just a tiny sanity check…

I had a look today Dave. The course looks wicked - off camber central - and there will be a lot of running if it's muddy. Which it will be, certainly by Sunday. It's already showing signs of ripping up with all the practice mongers
-
There's focus!
-
You down to Southampton as well Shelton?
-
Good luck in the compost you lot, I'm heading south. Bike's looking good Tim, just needs some real brakes now The narrow wide set up does come off occasionally, but it's not very often (once a year type of thing) and as Dave says easy to sort. I …

Great job Tom!
-
Nice one Tom, good to see you're having the end of season form you deserved! Awesome!
-
It's a slippery slope. In more ways than one. Well done JMac!
-
You're right Tim, no Eastern League that weekend, but London League is at Hog Hill on the Sunday. Great double header with the velodrome on the Saturday?
-
I'd add that changing your dismount side is a fairly difficult thing to achieve, and may not be the first thing to focus on. Famously, Bernard Hinault was told by his coach that he'd need to learn to dismount on either side if he wanted to be World …

Congrats mate, it's the right direction to go for sure. Glad you're keeping it real with the second claim too. 2015 is going to be massive!
-
Tom, I am definitely going, and probably I will ride the Seniors race, so I can give you a lift back to Royston afterwards. Probs best if you cadge a lift with Daniel on the way down, as I have some errands to run in the morning. Tim, don't worry…
-
I can give you a lift back Tom if I go. I will know for sure by tonight if I'm going or not.

Lovely day for it. Some fast times this year, I think last year's winning time was 2.29 Full results here: http://hitchinnomads.cc/ Justin on TT bike with 54T single ring! So so strong.
-
Nice one Bryn. I hope you didn't come to any injury in our little tumble - I have a chainring imprint on the side of my skinsuit - not sure if mine or yours I just about kept up with you with the one brake, but then you pulled out a lead while I w…

Thanks both, I will see you there!
-
Tim, where are you seeing the start list? The hill is short sharp and kinda fun if you are into that kind of thing. As it seems you are I am going to drive over, two races on Saturday, and I have stripped bottle cages (amongst other items) off th…

I'm in two minds about it. What time were you thinking of setting off?
-
I think the brevity of that write up summarises the difficulty perfectly. Massive kudos to all CCA - you have ridden brilliantly and done your club proud. Well done Jackie, Stuart, Mark and Daniel!
-
That would have been Daniel and me, queuing up at Brighton! To be fair, I think they have now ironed out the glitches (to do with their new transponder system). What turns me off HH, is the fact that it's a horrible course to start at the back on, …
-
It's weird, you don't see a lot of cross cancellations, but tomorrow there are three nationwide, for diverse reasons. Could it be TPE (the Three Peaks Effect)??
-
HH will be a bunfight Dave. I am going to give the Lincolnshire League a try, up at Spalding tomorrow. Old school one race for everyone (well, all the adults anyway), and only 50 odd miles up the A1. Only a tenner on the day entry too. https://ww…
-
Thanks Theo. Won't be the same without you. Tim, I have emailed Peter Tasker, but haven't heard back - is this the best way to enter? It would be a shame if half of CCA didn't get a ride on a technicality...
-
Well done to all CCA and bad luck, Alfie, Jackie and Tim. There are numerous pics of many of you on the ECXL FB page courtesy of Neil Ellison, so go and find yourself.
-
Well I don't think we'll get that for tomorrow, but we can live in hope
-
Thanks Mark. Looks good. That's about as 'cross' as I've seen Hog Hill. Usually it favours mountain bikers, but this looks well balanced. Hopefully a bit more rain overnight to soften the ground up and we should be in for a good one!
-
I think it depends on the size of the steps.
-
Double header with this and you are on to a winner! http://www.cxhairs.com/2014/08/04/hilly-billy-roubaix-2014-video/
