mark c crossed the finish line with me, after we ttt'd the final 5 miles towing a group of 5 riders who thanked cca for the lift at the finish. not sure but think my time is right so mark c should have been similiar
yes strappy think we lost at least 15 mins with 2 long stops to work our where we were, and that bl**dy hill back up to the course... i was seething at that point as had been going really well up the last few hills and was looking for a strong finish, still we got there in the end and i enjoyed the fast run in with mark c. so knock off 15mins and we would have been top 100 around 6:40 ish i guess.. i should have been watching the signs more closely.
earlier had been a differnt story... really suffered in the middle section, seemed to be going backwards. great effort by all but especially phil with a great time, and martin with a very gutsy ride (forgive the pun). it was good to end the ride with a quick pint at a country pub and a chat with the "etape virgin" from harpenden who had snapped a chain. a great if at times very painful day out.

Many silvers and one magnificent gold! Must have done well in the team event. Anyone know if there is an announcement about this at some point?
Top, top riding everyone. well done Phil, not just finishing 9th but for getting round the whole 110 miles without getting on the front once!! ha ha. those other guys were getting a bit pee'd off with us for sitting in. In fact one of them said (the guy who barged passed me coming out of the 1st feed station) that we had to do some work if we wanted to be in their team!!! I felt a bit guilty and went to the front for a bit, then got dropped when we had to cross that big road, which was a bit annoying.
Big up to Martin, for getting round when feeling like crap and to everyone else for putting in great efforts. Its a tough old bugger that course. I thought we stayed together for a decent amount of time, certainly up to the first feed station.
I spoke with Eddie Spriggs today - the organiser - who apologised profusely for not updating the Chiltern 100 website sooner with the team results. I think we had already worked out our result but it is officially a SILVER :-)
Well done to all who entered, especially Phil A, Pete G & Lee H who all achieved the Gold standard.
1 more gold in our team would have put the team on Gold BTW.

I spoke to Eddie yesterday and he mentioned we were not alone with the issues! He clearly resolved it .... Sigh, efforts rewarded correctly 8-)))))
Well done again to everyone!!!

entries for next year open 20/1/12
Preparation? Well be fit. Sounds like you did the Nasty Ride on Sunday. A few of those should be ideal preparation!
Good luck, and see you there.
Daniel
Is there going to be a CCA team entry?
