Stef. Am aware you're coordinating accommodation. A bit awkward with 18 or so eh - so wondered if this might help; I've set up a Doodle that all of us can note preferences of; solo room, sharing or not bothered. Am not sure the hotel will have 18 ro…

10 out in medium fast, led by Carmelo. Arm warmers? We were fools! Glorious weather - light breeze - we whipped through to Southill, Cardington, Great Barford and on to Grafham Water. Stopped off for a coffee [£1.20] and Carmelo suggested halfway br…

Aye - well done everyone for a great trip.
I've put my pictures on Flickr. I'll put others on there soon.

Well done Skelders. I bet the ink is still wet? I can de-pack my old CCA top then.
Weather forecast remains good - 18 degrees, partly sunny and even just light winds on Saturday. Am I looking at an Ypres in Libya or somesuch on this wea… -
Have mapped out Stage 2 Saturday on mapmyride [there was nowt on the telly]. Check out the elevation.
Richard - let's pick up that chat about a bonus 20 miles along the canal for those that want to go 100 - with a rendezvous point back … -
Weather forecast for Ypres good...

Medium/Fast was blisteringly fast. 11 out. I had to peel off early so missed the outcome. Did you guys get to Swanbourne and back? Flew back eh?!
-
I think the average speed jump your looking for is reasonable with a better bike - and you'll notice a leap by drafting [hiding!] in a peloton. Carmelo is often pointing out the more telling factors being heart rate and cadence to assess fitness - p…

Here's the trip soundtrack. I'll get them ready for the cars. In the meantime, you can listen to it all now, for free, if you use Spotify.

Full story here on a club site page. Geoff - if you send me the pics I can put them on there too. Nothing too revealing, eh?!

Cheers Richard. For memory/ease - I've made the browser links a bit more 'carbon fibre';

Two conclusions;
1. Your average goes down a lot when you carry your bikes o'er hill and vale, and industrial estate car parks and across the A10 and through private roads [but technically a public right of way] and over dusty flint tracks. Bu… -
Hi James
I will probably join you. 20+ degrees and 2mph wind! We'll miss it when it's gone [sigh]...
I'll get there just before the church bells go at 6.30am. If I'm not there - I simply had too much to drink tonight.

Sounds like a good idea Tim - and indicative of a growing, thriving club.
Don't forget everyone - we have a database list of mapped rides already [plenty o' 45-50 milers here already]. It would be nice to grow this further. Send me your… -
Aye - nice ride. Never cycled thru Woburn park itself before. 61 miles, 19.3mph ave. 13 out in this group. Back 12.30pm - perfect.

Got to Finsbury Park at 8am on the dot. I think Cycle Fridays need a bit of PR - just 17 of us, 4 of whom were TfL riders. Still, got a free cycling backpack - and nice ride in.

Hi James - I will be at Ashwell P.O. at 5.40am [a bit earlier than first thought - but this should be about right for Finsbury Park at 8am].
Forecast is excellent. -
I think the idea is to book the Novotel in central Ypres [Ieper]. There's no viable alternative we can find.
It's £75 for a double room, per night, inc breakfast.
There are no single or twin rooms - but each double room has… -
12 out in the medium with Geoff. Max, Tim G, Strappy, Kevin, Rob, Stuart, Jim Rees, his St Ives cc mate Josh and two of Max's mates over from NZ. They were a bit good. Maybe they'd have been happier with the fast boys? Anyway, we did a good job of s…

How about a cafe stop at Finchingfield [i believe there are two] before turning back? Total about 60-65miles there and back.
-
Passed a good 40 or so L-E-Ls this evening from Walkern to Ashwell as they wrapped up the last few of their 800 miles. Passed on regards. Total respect.

The long range weather forecast is good for Sunday - hope you have a good ride [I can't make it].
I assume it will be a 8.30am start? -
Carmelo - I hear you've had your op now. I hope you recover brilliantly - and are ready for next season [and indeed in time for you to help me thru the off-season fast group Autumn/Winter club rides!].
All the best.

nice one Adam. Can you text me your mobile number. Got a bit of a cold. Should be OK - but if I feel too bad in the morning I'll let you know. If all good though - see you 6.15am nice one 07977 652 247.
I reckon Thurs eve will hold. Am … -
Need a lie down just reading that. Well done Robbie. Got the calculator out: actually 20.36mph average.
Not sure I'll be around Bolton that weekend now. But if I am I'll let you know and cheer you on outside the Black Dog pub the other … -
Great ride today [12th July]. No rain at any point. Warm and strong wind from the west meant we reached around Duxford at about 20.5mph ave. 18 of us: or rather 17 + Phil Adams...! There was a split at the top of Great Chishill and at Royston. Up to…
